What is this project?
NetProfiler is a self-contained toolkit for processing criminal reports used by the United States’ Department of Homeland Security.
What’s the story of NetProfiler?
In my junior year of college, I was working with Kevin Kostage and his team of software engineers on a generative neural network capable of producing synthetic data used to enhance autonomous intrusion detection. Later that semester, Kevin approached me and a few other members of the development team and said he had an opportunity from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Shortly afterward we met with Clint Thompson, Kevin’s contact in Homeland Security Investigation (HSI). He discussed his disdain with the unnecessarily slow process of creating and reviewing reports of action (ROAs) within the investigations department. [Explain how and why we were creating a user-friendly solution in the form of offline software]
